The collection

Find the one that already feels like your practice.

Eight complete, original directions. Seven are available to choose from; the eighth is my own practice, included so you can see the same design standard working as a real website.

You choose the closest starting point. I make the detailed design decisions from there — and the direction is rebuilt around your practice rather than recoloured.

Studio Practice — fictional brief

Rowan Hill Therapy

Generous space, a natural palette and an unhurried route to enquiry. Made for a practitioner whose work is slow and relational, and whose website should not be in a hurry either. One long page with an index rail rather than several — everything in one place, in the order somebody reads it.

  • One therapist
  • Quiet
  • Unhurried

Studio Practice — fictional brief

Different Minds

More expressive and more direct, with choice built into the structure: the same information is offered plainly, in summary, or straight to costs, and none of the three routes is the lesser one.

  • A centre
  • Neurodivergent clients
  • Plain-speaking

Studio Practice — unofficial redesign concept

Face to Face

Costs and first steps said out loud, near the top, without flattening the character of the organisation. Made for services where the person reading needs to know quickly whether they can afford to come.

  • Low cost

On a phone

Most of the people reading are on a phone, and some of them are not calm.

The phone view is not the desktop one stacked up: the hierarchy is re-decided, the type re-set, and the thing a distressed reader needs first moved to where they will find it. Every direction is tested to WCAG 2.2 AA.

If more than one feels right

You do not have to choose alone.

Send me the two or three you keep returning to and tell me what you like about each. I will say which is the strongest starting point — and a direction can borrow a feature from another where that improves the result.

Tell me which ones

If it helps to know what a therapist’s homepage actually has to do before you judge a direction on it: the five things people look for.
